Unusual Meat-eaters of PA
Friday, November 3, 2006 - Friday, November 3, 2006
Description:
We’ll learn all about the different ways animals hunt, catch and eat their prey. Then we’ll go on a night hike in search of the meat-eaters of the night–bats, owls, foxes, possums and raccoons. After the hike participants can then leave the park or attend an optional activity-we will be dissecting an owl pellet revealing the bones of the owl’s dinner (8 and under will need help of an adult).
Pre registration is required to assure adequate supplies and for safety reasons. Hike and presentation are free, $2 per owl pellet. Come early! NO ONE will be allowed to enter the park after 6pm. Participants should bring a dependable flashlight and must stay with park staff. Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and dress warmly. We will be hiking on rugged, unpaved trails. Meet at park office.
Hike portion will be cancelled in event of heavy rain or lightening.
